Title: Service master
Post by: David Beecroft on August 22, 2016, 09:25:06 pm
I have been offered some subcontractor work from the local branch of Service Master. Has anyone had dealings with them, how are they for paying invoices? Any problems historically with this company??? I would be grateful for information good or bad before I commit to them, thanks.

I used to do a lot for Service Master in Cardiff but the guy was a nightmare paying invoices so dropped him, however i'm pretty sure the company is made up of individual franchises so  every area would have a different franchise owner.

Thanks Guys, based on what you say I'll be careful not to over commit until I see how the local franchise operates. Maybe do a couple of units and see how they react to an invoice before doing much more.

I wouldn't sub from anyone David. Although I've not done too much subby work in the past, all bar one it has always ended up with me chasing payments and the relationship going sour. I now only have 1 X 3 monthly job which is subbed. Once that is gone I'd definitely not take any more on.

Yes I've had problems in the past and ultimately had to take court action against a problem client. However I do regular contracts for various property factors without any difficulties so I try not to tar everyone with the same brush. I will be cautious until I know what I'm dealing with.
