Yep, I know this has been discussed thousands of times, but the gardiners all season now has pin holes and splits all over the place and theres more tape on it than there is hose...lol.
The options and your comments please.
Exceed blue pole hose : Does it lay flat or wire up like bloody electrical cable because that seems to be the issues with gardiners pole hose and will it fit direct into the push fit gardiners brush adapter. It says its 8mm OD
Gardiners Reinforced pole hose : As above, states its 9mm OD on website, so will it fit gardiners push fit as all season is 8mm
Silicone Air line tubing : All looks good but only 6mm OD ??, but some have said they have used it and lays flat and works well, but concerned about the push fit size ?
There's probably not an ideal solution to any pole hose, but essentially want one that lays flat, and doesn't end up in a twisted heap............if there is such a thing. Not worried about " pinchability" to stop flow as we have taps.
Thanks for any comments,
Fieldsy

I've been using the Exceed blue hose, excellent stuff and very hard wearing. Fits straight into Gardiners connectors (8mm). Doesn't really lay flat but I don't need it too..

I use the Gardiners Reinforced Pole Hose. It doesn't fit into standard fittings so you do need the additional stem barb for each fitting, which is a bit annoying but not terrible. It's not bad hose but it has a bit of stretch to it which can be annoying when using a univalve, because sometimes you have to give it a bit of a yank. I also use 60 metres of it on my reel as main hose. Ironically, I think it makes a better main hose than pole hose, but that's just me. Hopefully getting a bigger van soon so i'll probably swap over pole hose at that point and try the blue exceed as used by my learned neighbour above. ;D

Thanks so much for the replies. I swap the brush heads quite a bit for builders cleans as we have a contract, so the quick push fit is ideal and fast. Looks like I'll try the exceed. I'm not to worried about it laying flat.....as long as it don't end up like a heap of mains cable !!!!.

ive got the blue exceed hose i find it very good its a bit soft for hot water tho so next ill try the red exceed hot hose c how that is the blue hardly ever twists unlike the gardners wich was a night mare and the streem line clear that was also a twisting night mare after a months use ::)roll

For pole hose I've always preference the clear stuff sold in b&q for ponds.
The 5mm stuff is what I use. Doesn't tangle is nice and soft and durable

Thanks for the updates especially on the exceed. We are cold water so sounds ok : )
I thought the clear stuff was no longer in use for window cleaning as its a trip hazard when can't be seen very well, regarding health and safety ???

I tried it a couple of years ago, couldn't coil it up and couldn't work with it, it would wrap itself around the pole base preventing you from extending it also refused to lay flat on the ground - a right trip hazard.
Gardiners all season hose I've been using for ages. Twists like a piglets tail and splits on the bend where it enters the base section. Pulls out of JG push fits if you try and use it without an insert which means if you use a tap your gonna need three of them, two at a minimum which restricts your flow in my opinion.
I've not found an ideal pole hose yet (probably never will ;D)

ill give the red exceed a miss then ;D
