Hi all .... My water pump on my water heater has given up ... To buy another part is about £300 for just the pump ..... Has anyone ever replaced the water pump with a cheaper substitute ? I have tried one already and the fittings aren't the same unfortunately ..... (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1471197997_image.jpeg)(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1471197997_image.jpeg)

Bargain! Have you tried peeling the webarsteward sticker off and seeing what's underneath?

I would suggest you contact
http://www.angliapostalparts.co.uk/
They operate with an ebay shop but if you go to their website there is a contact email address.
I have always had good service from them and their parts prices are better than the likes of Butler Technik /heaterparts4U.
I see this is listed as a Hella pump. Hella have agood name so i doubt they will attach their name to poor quality.

( by changing the connector, I would say they are refering to the electrical connector.)

We may have some stock of refurbished pumps on the shelf, or maybe able to beat the price on a new one - perhaps you could email us directly to enquiries@grippatank.co.uk please.

looking at the price of there 9 and 12 kw heaters , if you have a bit of diy savvy i reckon you could build a diesel hot sytem for a round 1500 .

Hi Robert, You can buy all new bit's from the likes of ebay including the heat exchanger etc and make one up as you say for well under half the price. However what put me off using webastow type heaters they are very expensive to get serviced when they go wrong and not really intended or suitable for hot water on demand wfp work due to the nature of how the heater works. That is why many just use the return to tank option instead and heat the water in the tank rather than trying to use it on demand.
Yes I know many have been sold and ionics were the first to start using in their van mounts but many wfp users over the years have realised their pitfalls too.
I'm sure my mate lance has still got a broken pf one in his van that he wants to get rid if interested

I might be interested if its cheap and depending on whats broken .
I did try a gas heater L5 that poleking sent me for free (top bloke) , but it was erratic and now doesnt fire up at all , and im not super keen on the gas bottle in the van ...... i did like working with hot though .
it would actually be cheaper for me to get a new tank with an immersion boss in it than it would be to buy a new diesel heater !

I found those L5 pants too
