Title: brick floor
Post by: Neil Worsnop on August 04, 2016, 06:55:03 pm
1860s house with a brick floor in the basement - bricks damp as laid onto the mud leading to efflorescence as well as builders grime and general dirt.

have looked at products to deal with this but am conerned about the fumes in a confined space with limited ventilation and effects on metallic objects as a result.

any recommends for products to deal with efflorescence safely??

have explained the cause and that it will return but householder wants to give it a go if feasible.

No fumes involved ventilate it then
1.  Dry brush it with a manual rotary fitted with either a silicone carbide or diamond brush.
2.  Then dry vac it.
3.  Deep clean using a Manual Rotary and Miracle Heavy Duty Acidic Cleaner then allow to dry.
4.  Dry brush it again then dry vac again.
5.  Then seal it with Miracle 511 Enhance & Seal.

The efflorescence will of course return unless you get rid of the source of the water.
