Myself I would not buy a smaller cheaper pump for wfp work as will not last as long nor can you use that type of pump with any decent length of hose reel.

Ive been using a backpack style pump with a 7ah battery in my freedom trolley for about 5 months now with no issues. It pumps water just as well as the Sureflo did. I don't expect it to last anywhere near as long though. The Sureflo's are built like tanks.
If you put one in a pump box I'd design it to be replaced easily and carry a spare. I can change the one in my trolley in five minutes.

I woudln't use anything less that a Shurflo pump but the downside is that it takes more battery power to drive it. Downside for a portable unit means more size and weight.

If what you are making just sits in one place and moves little (like say a dedicated solvent sprayer for a conny or set of gutters) then weight doesn't matter. Then again a less robust pump is ok if all it gets used for is a few minutes of work once in a while.

I have built man boxes such pumps and find they are all the same what I would do is look for a pump that delivers the most l/p/m with the least amp drawn so you get the longest out of your battery. I use Vyair pumps and they are good but my backup pump in the van is two in tandem cheap pumps they deliver 12 liters per minute at 100 psi and have worked for 3 years. The only complaint is they
are noisy and vibrate a lot at full wack, were the Vyair is smooth. And if they break, just through away and replace.

This looks a good cheap pump which should cope will with chems too so you can then build yerself a multi service pump box that should last longer than the cheaper china crap. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shurflo-12V-60psi-8-lpm-Sprayer-Pump-8000-543-236-/161764401328?hash=item25a9e8e0b0:g:C24AAOSwA4dWKTM5

Or if you’re after a very cheap softwash setup that uses the same pump as below I reckon this would be ideal to get you started.

When I wanted a pump in a hurry went to local caravan dealers Shurflo for about £70 not 100psi but do we need a high pressure
