Hey all
Not that anyone on here would fall for this type of thing ::)roll but just had a call from someone purporting to be from Yell.com.
He said I was due a refund due to the fact that they had taken the years' payment out twice - so £240 was due back to me. I pay monthly to Yell and it sounded like a young lad sat in his front room. So when he asked for my card details I gave a bogus number, expiry date and security number.
His voice changed to really pleased - obviously thinking he had mugged another sucker- snd thanked me for my time and said I should get a refund withing 7 to 10 days. At this point I asked if many people fell for this type of poop and I also told him I thought he was pure scum to be ripping off hardworking ;D people.
He became flustered and hung up. Of course the number was withheld.
Just a heads up for the latest scam doing the rounds

I just paid my tax online - always a bit scary transferring a few thousand through the internet.
So many scams out there.

Tax office contacted me via email , went into my junk box for some reason . Anyways, they said I'm due a refund so I emailed back with my bank details etc so hopefully in the next couple of days I should expect a lump sum. So much easier than being on hold for 20 minutes trying to sort it out

They normally send me a text ???

Bank of Ireland contacted me telling me I'm due a refund of 438 euros for overpaid charges. I gave them my details on line including my pin number and password details so they can transfer it more quickly. (apparently it can't go back to the account they took it from for some reason) More fool them! I haven't even got an account with them and I'm due 438 euros within seven days!

Similar thing happened to me. A Nigerian prince has inherited nearly £19m and need a uk bank account to transfer the funds to. I just gave him my bank detailed in exchange for 10% of his inheritance. I should receive funds in about 10 days! Easy money!
