Post by: edward1 on July 26, 2016, 05:37:16 pm
one of my customers has asked and to be honest im not 100% sure.
is there a height restriction on using ladders?

And what is the guideline from health and safety ,do u have to have them footed or tied? Or is that not correct?

thanks

If I were you I wouldn't ask here, no disrespect but you will get half a dozen different and conflicting answers .
HSE will have the right answers. Here is a start;

I don't use ladders above 2 storey height anymore and will only use ladders as a last resort now with safety devices fitted as in example pic. Both ladder safety devices fitted to that ladder have been independantly tested and approved by H&S unlike so say many other so called ladder safety devices you can buy that are not.

Customers are also impressed with that setup and that I take H&S seriously when using ladders especially on potentially slippery surfaces like pavers, decks etc.
