anyone know were i can purchase a hose reel to take around 100foot of 1-1/2 vac, and solution hose please?
-
or got a suggestion of what to use to make one, iv seen a few guys say they have home made ones
-
Hydramaster make custom reels and tanks
or Dave from spot on cleaning made his own, he could prob give a few pointers

Give Woodbridges a call they are the cheapest around for hose reels. 01279 422220 and ask for Dann

Cheers mate, must be worth a look, theredcarpet@hotmail.co.uk
i have a mate who works for ntl and he has a few of the big cable drums that there wiring comes on i was thinking of adapting one of those, they look like they could work, would like to see what you have come up with though
-
No problem, leave it to me. What you will find is that some cable drums are too heavy whereas those made for the smaller cables are lighter as they are plywood or even mdf. i learnt a lot about drums after working in the cable industry for twelve years.

prochem do one £575, whats wrong with that ;D any one think it was over priced ;D
a stainless steel tank should be around £350 to have made.
Red are you going for a Ninga van mounted?
thats the route i might go when i get around to it, what i like is you can have it in a smaller van than a proper TM.
-
thats what im thinking of at the moment Craig yeah,
just waiting to get confarmation iv been accepted for the lease and then i may go for it, its about £130 a month for fully loaded ninja with 3vacs 400psi and good heat with auto fill and dump and 100foot of hose and wand.
then im thinking of a 250 litre tank for the van to supply it (cost £95), and directing the 25foot of vac hose to the nearest drain to dump.
would like to add a reel as well though if i can squeeze one in
-
sounds good, should be plenty of power 3 vacs ! and 400psi,
is auto dump nessacary?
i spose it saves stopping to empty.
can you let me know where you source the tank.
i think it'll be a great set up, saves alot of work humping the machine, plus the machines not getting in your way in the hall. all the benifit of a TM without the cost ;D
-
i cant find the site i found the tank on for £95 now
i think its called restormate or somthing simualar but theres a few sites out there that do them for that sort of money,
i was thinking of the 250 litre upright baffled, and securing it to my metal bulkhead with ratchet straps, i think im right in saying you can get a scrubba socket fitted to the ninja and this will have enough power to supply a pump to fill the ninja from the tank.
the third vac is a extra lead so i was thinking of having say 50-75 foot ready to use with the two vac setup and another 25-50 on the van to attatch if i cant reach if and when i need the extra i will attatch the 3rd vac.
aparently you can get the ninja with 50foot of power cord so no nead to mess with extension leads
so all thats left to get is a small hose reel, have a look at this i found earlier it would prob be ok if it could hold a bit more, http://www.poolsupplies.com/Product_PAGES/NewPages/HoseReels.html
-
that is cheap, it may be ok, remember it'll only be 1,1/2" hose, ???
i would prefer to run one extention lead with 4 sockets from custys house, its just one lead then, you could plug in 2 plugs for machine then 1 for V2 heater (if your having one) and one spare could use that for auto fill.
-
hi Red,
http://www.restormate.co.uk/
Is this the site you wanted ?
Regards,
Gary
-
Cheers Gary thats the one,
Craig, so would i but aparantly it wont work as all leads draw the full ammount of power available from a sockett so all need there own if you double or triple up you will start blowing fuses etc.
According to Ashbys
-
hi i hav run my ninja truckmounted for a year and its great ,i got my tank from cleantech and a 12 volt pump,be careful when using ext leads as the ninja draws a lot power u need very heavy duty leads what u will not get from likes b&q , and do not use one with anything more than one socket on the end u will melt it !!!! gary
if u need anymore info on running your ninja truckmoumted just ask cheers gary
-
gary how long can you go to with hoses with your ninga? do you put V2 in van or in custys, you know, in line further up?
red,
you could use that 50ft hose on the reel and then have 2 sets of 25ft hose/solution in bags as you probaly do now,
so set up 50ft then use extentions as required,
just a thought 8)
-
i think you will find Garys v2 is built into machine, wich is also the option i will go for if i decide to go for it.
-
i use 100ft hose all the time ,my ninja has just the two vacs i never break it down and it performs well all the time, i dont use a hose reel just load it in the van in a sort of figure of 8 when u get used to it takes about 30 secs to load into van and takes up lot less space than u think, auto dump is really handy if u are doing more than couple carpets,my v2 is built in i also hav a tank heater but is rarely used as i fill from my house every day with hot water, to haet cold water in tank would tank 30 mins!! and rember u can only hav one heat option on at any time ie v2 or tank heater not both , also y bother with 3rd vac when if u need more power just hook u old machine upto the exshaut of your ninja thats all ashbys do with their 3rd vac, if i hook one of my other machines to the ninja i hav 4x 3 stage vacs
-
Gary,
When you do hook up to another mahine , have ashbys ever stated how much extra water lift it gives?
-
no they havnt, but if u turn off the vacs on the ninja and just run the vacs on the second machine u hav hooked to the first id say u get about the power of one three stage vac so with them all going u prob get the power of 3x3 stage vacs maybe bit more
gary
-
gary, you say you fill with hot water in morning from your house,
will v2 heat sufficently from cold?
-
hi craig, i like to clean with very hot/steam everytime as i feel the results speak for themself , with any inline heater they only hold a small amount of water so yes u can heat it up to steam in about 4 mins from stone cold but u will use it miles to quick for it to get anywere that temp from stone cold water with constant use but it will keep it verywarm/hot but fill it with hot water all the time and u will get near on very hot/steam all day long ,when trying diffrent ways of using the ninja i found that if u fill it with cold turn on the tank heater let it heat up to max then turn on the v2 heater and the auto fill with cold water from your source ie water tank in van or tap the water in the ninja tank allways stays hot in constant use this is because of the pressure relief sending hot water back to the tank on a 400psi pump and it only fills it with cold water from the auto fill as about the same speed u are using the hot water with a 400 psi pump up full

Ian, adding the third vac to the ninga increases the mercury lift from i think, 15 could be 17 cant remember to 20 its a noticable difference if you put your hand over the vac hose you can really feel the difference.
Gary, do you think i should get the tank heater? im thinking no at the minute as its a extra £200 and i cant see me using it as i will be filling tank with hot tap water as well.
The thing is i only have limited hot water though as i live in a 1bed flat, for example if i run a bath by the time its 3/4 full the water will run cold. Also do you drain out the left over water at the end of the day or just top up everymorning?
I was hoping to just top up with hot (would be easier) only problem then is the left overs gona be cold so its gonna end up just warm in the tank, also not sure if its ok to leave overnight with chems in water, would all the chems sink to bottom?
-
red,
another option for a tank here ;D
http://www.worldofclean.co.uk/index.php?productID=424
-
Yeah if your loaded, there not cheap
il stick to the £95 job ;)
-
are they? can't see a price ???
-
£570 plus vat for pair
-
hi red, i would buy the tank heater as well just as a back up if u on a job and run out of hot water, yes i drain mine tank when i hav finished for the day,and i add a couple scoops of cleaning powder just to the ninja tank every now and then through the day,i find u dont need much powder as the heat dos most of the work
