Right guys,
I really don't get the benefits of having a 'closed circuit' of water, when it comes to using wfp.
I like using the rectus 26 fittings with the male end on the hose reel and the female end on the pole hose. This gives me complete control on water flow being able to rinse at any speed I wish (just open the tap a little less).
They very seldom leek and I have an open supply of water from the reel, which can be used to flush the pole sections if working in gritty/dirty areas.
I'm temped to convert to the power up reels and looking for the best set up possible.
What method do you use and why?

I use 2 leather holsters, one on each side which i put the main hose through. The holster to my left (not in pic) holds the tap. That way my main hose is away from my feet and not causing a trip hazard.
My pole hose is also connected to tap and i have in through my poles. Any loose pole hose i can hold in hand (again so not triping over it).
I like the tap by the side as its a quick and simple turn, giving me full control of on/of and my hands/hand still on pole. I have my digi control set to 35/36 and only use tap to turn on or off, not to control speed.
I have a small pouch on belt also that holds a small micro fibre cloth that i use to wipe pole hose when gritty so i dont drag grudge inside of poles.
Thats my prefered choice

If you guys can't hold pole with one hand and tug on pipe I think you need to change your butcher lol, I have had taps aquadapters and the uni valve and the uni valve is by far the best I have ever used

Looking at that picture I would hate having hose wrapped around me like that. Univalve works perfectly every time. On - off on off what more is there to say ?? I was operating it at 58ft yesterday no problem none whatsoever.

aquadapter. just because something new which does the same job comes out does not mean i have to have it. when the a/d fecks up i might try the univalve.

I suppose its what you get use to, as to whats easier for each person. My work is 100 percent residential, but im fortunate that ny rounds are compact and clean virtually all houses per street i do. So having hose away from feet when walking to each garden n hose just trailing along works a treat for me.
Not much difference in letting go with one hand to turn tap or tug on hose, apart from a tug on hose may be more satisfying ;D

Just one holster for me, the hose sits in it with the tap about a foot or so in front, can rest the end of pole against my leg while
I switch the water on and off so no extra strain on the arms and wrist.

After eight years of poling I thought I had it all sussed out. I worked with a Cleantec trigger attached to the pole and the inevitable loop of hose didn't really bother me I just learned how to manage it. However..... I thought I'd give the Univalve a go when it was introduced even though I had my reservations. And boy am I glad I did. I bought a tubeless kit at the same time, and the two things together made a huge change to my day. Getting rid of that extra hose between the tap/trigger and the pole was brilliant. I actually work quicker as a result. the only reason I didn't get an aquadapter/tap was I didn't want the extra length on my collapsed pole. I wish now I had, and got rid of 'that loop' ages ago.

I use the univalve on both my poles and it's very good, but I do miss my Aquatap. For me it was quicker and I could keep both hands on the pole. Aquatap is broken but I may get another one just to try again.

Univalve is easily the best.
Second best is the aquadapter same thing really but added weight.
Aqua tap is poope. It's either too loose or too tight and mine dropped to bits within a few weeks.
Pinching hose is pop also. Have to keep bending down or dragging a loop round. It's just not as effective.
Tap catches on everything and same as pinch you've gotta bend diwn or work with a loop. Yes you can put it on a belt but it's not as quick as a univalve plus it looks really gay

I have to say univalve hands down. I used to use a tap and still do for the 30ft pole which I have been using today quite a bit.
I'm so used to using the univalve for the past 6 weeks on the shorter pole. So much so when doing today's work which was mostly 30ft I kept tugging on the hose and pulling it off the brush connector. 🙈 Forgetting that I don't have a univalve on the 30ft. 🙈🙈
The tap was good but takes longer and it's all about time saving in this game and the univalve does that with no draw backs other than its £30 and I should have got their hose with it.

Had my univalve for week doesn't always shut water off unless you pull hose several times. So took it off and gone back to my water control valve which I made myself.

Two of mine do that to, but only at height.

Not really, you need to not be gay and get a univalve

Only problems I had with mine were both due to my setup.
First was that I have my poles fitted with a tubeless setup and I didn't leave enough free-play in the short piece of hose in the top section. When the UV is in the closed position there should still be a small amount of free play beneath the top section. It shouldn't be tight,otherwise the valve might not shut off. Just needed to slacken the hose stay a tiny bit at the top.
The other problem I had was with a fixed 115psi pump I fitted to my trolley. It was just too much pressure for the UV to handle and caused problems. Once turned off I struggled to get it to turn back on. I couldn't even push my waterstop hozeloc connector on my trolley together without depressurizing the system. With a lower psi rated pump it worked just fine

I used Gardiner pole tap for number of years and found it great. But converted to Univalve when it first came out. Absolutely brilliant. Hardly noticeable with its weight and got rid of the hose loop which I carried in my hand.
After a while also converted to tubeless system and I like that too. When I need the extension of on the pole, just unplug, slip on required height, off I go. Saves time and so easy to work with.
