Is there a technique I'm not quite following when trying to loop my hose after I have done a job ;D ? it's so frustrating and hard work after a long day!
-
It is!!
Get a reel saves about an hour a job 😂
-
you have to put a twist on it whilst your coiling it up but yes a reel does save a lot of time and effort
-
Do not put a twist in it. Take the hose in one hand and pull as much as you can with the other bringing it to the first hand - do not let it twist and it will form a figure 8, repeat.

I thought about getting a reel but I imagined it would be a nightmare as your reeling in that it would tangle ::)roll

Pull it down the road and walk the lance or lance coupling back to the reel and it'll wind on to the reel with no problem. Money well spent.

I have a QR on the gun so just wind the hose back to the reel. Tangles come when you pull it off with no friction so I have a bungie round the shaft

Here's one way of doing it. I found these tubs in Wickes, 70 litre capacity, strong, rigid and light. I use one to store my hose reel extensions, 2 X 10 metre and one 15 metre. To get them into the tub I make sure the hoses are untangled and then whilst rotating the tub clockwise with my right hand , feed the hose in with my left. It coils quite easily against the walls of the tub, leaving the centre clear for storing my tank hoses, guns and lances. To get the hose out, hold the hose free end and walk away with it untwisting it as you go. Using this method I find almost as quick as my hose reel. I've also set it up as an emergency backup buffer tank so it performs a number of uses for me and all for under twelve quid!
