I currently own the stainless steel housing do I have to put a particular membrane in it or can I use any my water pressure is well above 50 psi, it was bought from vyair

Any 4040 r/o membrane will fit that housing.
I don't know what you mean by saying that your tap water pressure is well above 50psi. To me that could mean that its anything above 55 psi.
Also as important is the flow rate of water through your tap.
For our r/o I chose an HF5 over an HF4. Our tap pressure is 50 psi with a 13 lpm flow rate. Pure Freedom did tell me that I could use an HF4 membrane at water pressures over 40 psi, but I still opted for the HF5.
I don't know if the HF4 would have worked as efficiently, but when the time comes to replace this membrane I will reorder an HF5 as this has and still is performing well for me.

I think the low pressure membrane that Vyair sell is the same as Daqua sell. Axeon HF5 is also sold by lots of other suppliers.
Gardiners website says its optimum range is between 50 and 100 psi.
The optimum working pressure of an HF4 membrane is 80 to 105 psi (Gardiners website.) Yes an HF4 is cheaper but its an HF5 for me every time.
If I used a booster pump, then an HF4 would be fine.

I've got 50 psi water pressure and no booster. I get 2 lpm of pure which is fine for me. Guys with boosters get a much higher pure output.
My membrane is 4 years old next month and still produces water at a rejection rate of 98%.
My r/o operates on a float switch and solenoid valve. Once the IBC tank is full the r/o switches off. Take any more than 200 liters and the r/o is switched on again.
