Try and estimate how long it will take and how much you want per hour but just give a fixed price, that's what I would do  :)

Anything from £60 to £1000, seriously Dave there's absolutely no point in asking questions like that on here, as you haven't
priced something like this before why not clean a couple of meters of the customers property and work out how long its going
to take from that, be generous with your timing allow for the downspouts, traveling expense and so on.
You may want to add on a bit extra for it being a bit more hassle than cleaning windows as well.

Are you quoting the facias plus windows if so what do you charge for windows.the way I do it is i give a price what I'm happy with make sure the price includes windows but I tell them the windows are being cleaned free and also tell them what Eva price i have given them is cheaper than I would normally charge that way they think they are getting a bargain  :)

As you have never done this kind of job before why not just ask them outright how much do they want to pay for a good job.
Then just agree to do the job at that price to gain a bit of experience.

WIN WIN and all that.

Time wise again as you are new to this I would allow at least half a day so your are not having to rush the job.

Chances are you're going to take a hit doing that. We do these relatively often, 9 times out of 10 it's way more than the customer expects.

Still, sound advice IMO, a small hit now with experience gained. I still under-price these now from time to time.

Taking a hit is expected but is a great way for a newbie to gain the experience they need and more importantly to price jobs up more accurately in future.

To clean the outside of all guttering & downpipes, fascias, soffits, barge boards (apex's) etc. Then clean the window frames, sills and glass including doors and gargae door etc afterwards properly then yes I would allow at least half a day myself.

My price would also reflect the quality of my work too regardless of the type of property it is.

As they say you get what you pay for  ;)

Er ok. That's two hours work tops. unless they are minging. £90 for fsg & 18 (if regular) for windows. To include :

"outside of all guttering & downpipes, fascias, soffits, barge boards (apex's) etc. Then clean the window frames, sills and glass including doors"

Again that's up to the cleaner how much they want to charge for a  job, what methods they want to use and how long they think it may take them.

For instance I could realisticaly do a bungalow plastics in under 30 mins if I choose to use a washer and/or soft washing method so does that mean I should charge just half of the hourly rate (gross profit) I want to earn ?

It's up to the cleaner how much they want to charge and he's free to drag the job out too, but he's asking for help in what to charge and the average fit bloke won't take 1/2 day to do that.  If they aren't too bad it's no more than 90 minutes work. Possibly under an hour.

Why are you asking about this kind of job when you've been cleaning as long as you have?

If cleaning of ladder using wet soapy clothes to wash and scrim to shine, I price by ladder moves, usually clean 5ft safely without over extending.

So if just Soffits and Fascia, I would charge 100ft/5ft x £3 = £60

If soffits, fascia, exterior gutters then it would be as above but £4.50 per climb = £90

Remember though I'm in Scotland, if your further South than me but more north than the southerners, then you may get more than me, but less than the southerners :-\ :)
