I just cleaned a 5x7 Rug and knocked out over 7kgs of dust and it was still coming!! I had to stop after a while as it was getting ridiculous. I really could have done with a rug badger. I had to encap it in the end as there was just too much dust to clean it any other way without seriouse wick back I think there was more dust than rug! I can't believe people have these things in their front rooms!

dont buy badger unless you are going full into a rug spa. just learn to know which ones will take the extra vac time and charge for it. one reason we always do onsite quotes for rugs and upholstery

7 kilos is a lot of dust.
Like about 20 vac bags full.

I dont really want to go down the rug plant route. I did view the rug before hand, I just thought the average amount of crud would come out until i started dusting... then there was no stopping it. I did think it was a bit heavy when I picked it up though!

Was it a gun tufted rug? If so the dust could be the latex drying out & breaking up as well as normal soiling. That would look like sand.

No it was woven. The sandy dusty stuff was quite dark not like latex dust. I have had that before off of chinese rugs.
Incidentally I think your rug course will be one of my next courses, I think I'm learning a little too much as I go sometimes. ;D

Dennis I once got a lot of white powder out of a rug.
Joked with the lady that has got a street value of around £3k.
She looked really worried, she came back an hour later and said.
I just realised that is about 5 years of shake and vac.
Still looked in perfect nick, I offered to sweep it up and re bottle.
