Title: large area of flattened 80/20 carpet.
Post by: edward coller on June 05, 2016, 08:40:30 pm
Got a job of large area reasonable 80/20 in commercial use, 8 years old quite flattened with various stains markings rather than heavy soilig, was thinking truckmount extract and then over with dry texatherm pads to help dry and lift pile. Any other suggestions out there, cheers Simon

try a contra rotating brush machine which will help lift the pile. Do it at the prespray stage. If not then your rotary on it with the prespray. The pads will help the wick back and even out the finish. Depennds on how bad the carpet is. Sometimes as you will know once the soiling is released from the fibres they start to lift back up as the grease etc and soiling is removed.

Padding the carpet may actually flatten it more.

If lifting the pile is the priority you could.
1, dry crb (north south east west)
2, vacuum
3, prespray
4, crb again (north south east west)
5, extract
6, reset pile with a pile brush.
Most 80/20s could take that but be carefull you dont damage the pile though.

Use a good prespray, agitate it if you must and use the TM on it. If you use a pad afterwards you'll flatten it again, so don't.
