40 in a 30 - 0n the A4 Portway underneath the M5 motorway bridge, just where the limit changes from 40 to 30 on a pigging dual carriageway wide enough to graze a herd of wildebeest.
Hey ho! 1st one since 1988, 2nd one ever.
:'(

Happens to the best of us bud. Well the lead footed ones anyway ;D
-
Won't Dan the Man take one for the team by volunteering him as the driver?

That's a shame you almost qualified for a speed awareness course. No points and a course to go on. You child killer you.

I did qualify - so nyah nyah nyah! :D

I'm shocked at you Gold.
I myself was run over. If the driver had been doing 30 I may have survived, unfortunately he was doing 40 so I was killed.
Sort yourself out.

Thank you for this contact from beyond the veil. I am suitably chastened ...

Lucky then as 40 and over here is no course (in a 30)

Here (Avon and Somerset) "they" can decide between 35 and 42 for 30 mph speed limit.
Apparently the discretion is based on where you are. Near crossings and houses it's lower on wide roads, dual carriageways with grass verges it's higher. I don't know whether they can take into account past record or not.

the speed course is incredible boring 4 hours of bull.
however taking the 3 points means a bump in insurance
shop around if they try to increase your premiums after taking the course!
as you have committed no offence

I dunno - I don't mind a reminder. Stops me being complacent if I see a few mangled bodies being put into body bags at the roadside.

I did the one day course and found it quite interesting.
'it's a fair cop, guv' was most peoples attitude.
I, along with everyone else there, did it because we had committed an offence.

I went to court and got 5 points. Didn't do anything to my insurance. Everyone is getting points. Cameras all over. It used to be so much over the limit, now its 1mph. I was doing 95 in a 60 zone up Scotland. Dual carriageway, 1 mile dead straight. Takes the P

Takes the p yeah everyone should be able to drive 95 mph .... Stupid law

I think you got off quite light at 95 in a 60. Could easily have been more points. I reckon I got off light being offered an awareness course for 40 in a 30 actually.
