Looking for good ladder lock system for the ladder on the roof rack on the van if anyone can recommend one?
My current one is just a clamp type with no means to lock and i need to keep the ladder on the roof at nights now so want to make sure they there each morning

I use rhino quick clamps which have a lock built in. Not sure how secure as most locks can be compromised. But i havent had a problem in a yr with them, dont know mind you if anyone has attempted to take them, but they work for me.

yeah came across these they seem to be the business for locked clamps

i use standard ladder clamps(they have a hole in them for padlocks)

Wire type Bike lock work well.

When I used a smaller berlingo van I had roof bars on it and just padlocked the ladder clamps to stop them comming undone.
When I think about it now I have to laugh as if a pair of scumbags was intent on knicking the conservatory ladder & 12 rung triples all the had to do was undo the roof bars and cart the whole lot off ;D
Mind you if they came prepare with a decent set of bolt cutter would have the individule ladders away in no time. ::)roll

This is what i am afraid of, its all to handy to just cut locks and be away with them, and where im living now there is yards and vans being hit all the time and sure the ladder would be an easy take in fairness, ive no where else to keep them so i may have to opt for one of the foldable ladders thats talked about in the other thread and maybe try borrow or rent ladders when needs be, although in saying that that is the time you get in on dated with gutter cleans and need the big 2 rung ladder ::)roll

I think you a worrying too much as I've never had a set of ladders nicked leaving them locked up on the roof of a van yet.
Mind you after saying that I've had a few near misses when driving away after being side tracked and forgetting to put the ladder clamps on. Oops! ;D
To be honest standard trade double/triple type ladders are so cheap now so if a set ever got stolen they could be quickly and easily replaced. Would be annoying for sure but still would be more an inconvenience than great loss money wise.
Life is way too short to be worrying about things like that as if someone is determined enough will have anything away including a van full of kit.

Side point. My customer last yr sets of to work before 6am. This particular morning left his van n work gear on drive engine running to derost windows n to warm it up.

I'm also betting the insurance company computer said NO too ;D
We hear of at least one window cleaners van getting stolen each year where they leave the keys in the ignition whilst working.
Not so long ago a member I think on here had the same thing happen to him whilst he was out of site of the van which was parked on a customers drive with the key left in the ignition.
