Basically I have only ever owned a small step ladder as I didn't want to climb bigger ladders, However sometimes I wish I had a multipurpose ladder for the odd job like tall conservatories etc.
Anyone used one of these before? The tall step ladder could be used to climb straight over the odd locked gate and looks useful? Thoughts???

I've got pretty much the same ladder as that from maplins in a sale, not sure if they still on sale but was £49.99 down from £69.99.
It replaced my telescopic ladder which I never felt safe on, tried screwfixes version of the little giant but returned it as was still too big and chunky to fit easily in the back of my pickup.
Really like this ladder for the occasional use, very solid but can be a bit of a pain to set up - dual locking pins that need to be pushed up for every increment in adjustment of the hinges when extending although folding back up not so difficult.

Are these ladders for trade use like are they well built for everyday work?
Ive always toyed with getting one as be dead handy folded up in the van but never knew if they suitable or safe tbh

Ive always toyed with getting one as be dead handy folded up in the van but never knew if they suitable or safe tbh
I feel entirely comfortable on mine ( I am 12 stone ) doesn't flex, solid, the latches lock securely, the feet at either end are wider making it feel very stable.
As for every day use, i think depending on how many times a day you would have to unpack and pack away you may start to get cheesed off with the locking pins on the hinges. As said in my previous post above when unfolding it each hinged section has two sets of latches/ locking pins that are quite stiff to operate and work in increments of 45 degrees so can become quite cumbersome bearing in mind in most situations you are probably going to want to use the ladder fully extended.
Depending on what you will need the ladder for, a little giant or the budget priced screwfix copy maybe a better choice as I imagine it would be quicker to set up and is partially telescopic too making it height adjustable and a little more versatile.
But for me and what i needed the ladder for I am happy with it.

Well they wouldnt get used everyday but i just wanted to know they are well built as the roof ladder is becoming a pain now ive no where to store them and im not to keen on locking them on the roof of van over night, they actually sound like the job tbh, cheers

we only use little gaints ladders for this and fine them the best of the bunch

We use these as a backup in the smaller vans as I'm not keen on roof racks, just buy a good make with genuine en certification for trade use, some on eBay claim to have this but are lethal they bend like a banana and the joints/locks are badly made
