Prochem Citrus gel or POG from chemspec should work a treat.

i would have low odour white spirit in a spray bottle , spray and rub with a bluntish  knife or whatever , it should almost rub off , then extract ... only take a few mins

Make sure you clean it well and use as much heat as will permit. If you skimp on the clean you will get a call back due to rapid resoiling.

Hi Mikey sorry for the late reply, the amount of agitation you can use will depend largely on the type of carpet the mark is on. Brushing in and towelling will help alot. Carpets such as low profile synthetic carpets can take a good scrubbing, but a loop pile wool carpet will not. You will have to gauge how much it can take.

De-solv-it sticky stuff remover normally does not damage carpets or furnishings, works on all types of surfaces.

Excellent Mikey glad you got it sorted. A good solvent is a must to have on the van. :)

Done this so many times and made a lot of Money out if it.
Go buy 5 ltr S of tar and glue remover for about 20quid 5 ltrs, spray it on, use a slow speed rotary with a red or white pad then go over with a cotton bonnet.
