Title: How Do You Clean Roof Mounted Solar Heating Tubes?
Post by: Cookie on April 22, 2016, 09:13:54 pm
Over the past few months I have cleaned some solar PV (flat) panels for my window cleaning customers. Today I was asked by a customer whether I can clean their solar heating tubes, (used to generate hot water), which are also roof mounted.

Does anyone have any idea how to go about this?

Always cleaned these the same as solar panels - be aware that they are glass.

Thanks Darran. Do you recommend any particular brush for these?

No - super lite mixed medium for me, same as solar panels, glass, polycarbonate, upvc, render etc...

I always wondered if there is any benefit at all in cleaning hot water tubes.

They can start going green after a time, but customer pays for them to be cleaned every 3 months. Who am I to argue 🙄
