As a Mod, I'm happy to let this run here; we could say being in or out of the EU will have some kind of economic effect on our businesses, so it is related.
It's politics though, so try to keep it nice. ;D

So far there have been posters asking (and reporting to) the MODS
1. "What has this to do with window cleaning?"
2. "Why has this topic been moved?"
OK here goes. When the first report came in I agreed and took the view that it wasn't really connected to Window Cleaning so moved it to the chat section.
Tosh took a different view and said he was happy to leave it where it was.
I moved it as he was typing and so here it is! ;D

Not too sure why this was seen an not related to our industry.
A lot of business sectors have been in the media explaining how its effects their businesses. Our sector has the right to vote too.

You do realise that if we vote Out Boris will be Prime Minister before the end of the year! With the possibility of Trump the other side of the pond this is rather a frightening prospect!

Yeah, start a poll....and ask, is a window cleaner qualified to state straps need to hold two buses up before your system is considered safe.

Why not argue the case properly on the relevant thread? Prove my physics incorrect (the fact that I'm a window cleaner doesn't affect whether the physics are correct) rather than just making a sarcastic little snipe on an unrelated thread.

Except that I think a tank strapped to a bulkhead is safer than a cage and was the first on the thread to say so.

The influx of cheap labour from the EU has affected window cleaners the same as all workers by driving wages lower.
Our customers have had minimal increase in wages for years now particularly since the banking crisis in 2008.
This makes it more difficult for us to increase prices to keep pace with rising costs.
Massive migration has made it more difficult for tradesmen and many have gone into window cleaning as a result, increasing competition for existing window cleaners.
So in or out has and will continue to be an issue for window cleaners even though we don't export or need trade agreements.
Hence - I'm for out.

I think the EU should bring in Laws banning the use of wfp systems. That'd get rid of 80% of new start ups in this game. ;D

Definitely Nike , iv just bought these babies for my window cleaning work . and yes , they will be going on my tax return at £125 a pop
