Apologies for another rant!
Ive lost 6 customers in shortest space going. When ive asked why, was not satisfied with my service. Every one has been more than happy with my work this @@###@@@@@@### national company is really silly dirt cheap price. Ie my price 9 theres 5, for a descent 3 bed house bay windows up n down at front. Lol they were my cheapest prices......its ok saying dont want customers who jump ship for a couple of quid, but it depends how many jump ship. Im 6 n counting........200 left in that area to go.

you win some and lose some.......take it on the chin......
-
I've lost quite a few lately. Several from price increases, people moving (loads), some unspecified. A couple have said quality issues (an employee was going through a break up and wasn't concentrating). It's annoying, but as said, you win some, you lose some.

it can be a cut throat business although ive never lost 6 customers in 2 weeks in 23 years of window cleaning.
are you sure your doing a good job?do you ever check your work?

All have said been happy with service and quality. I also have a good relationship with them or so i thought. Even when i do a first clean i tell them if not happy call me and i will rectify. In 11 months only had 1 call me back, but that was down to really old cracked seals. But i rectified it which only impresses more of a good service on customers mind.
They all said it was because they have found someone cheaper. When i asked if Uk they suddenly dont remember, but ive seen the flyers my other (loyal) customers have shown me.

Leaflets don't work though. ;D

My take on it if so say loyal customers jump ship just to penny pinch then to be honest they are not worth having in the first place.
They may after trying them out call you back but I for one would tell em to go do one as the next one that knocks on their door they will do the same again.
-
just put your prices up and that with cover your loses ;D
-
The short time I've been on this earth I've learnt never to think any customer is forever I've had some I thought were forever and would be mine for as long as I wanted to clean em,this is why I don't ever put it off when it's time for an increase these days.

Oh good god!! - an intelligent post from NWH
Oh good grief - man up and grow a pair, stop whinging at concentrate on your biz - I suspect your "quality" or "service" is not all you think it is.. (Sorry to be blunt) yes you will lose an odd one or two, but not six all for cheaper prices.
Did you not think/take customers off other windies when you started gaining customers ???
Many customers when you start a round are dregs that will soon move on, likewise you need to do the same, plenty of new custom out there

And if you're actively seeking more customers you'll pick up cr@p as you continue.

In a couple of months pop your leaflet through the door, and then another leaflet in another couple of months.
Remember the saying; “The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory.”
The cheapies come and go when they realise they can't survive on the prices they are charging. A large company will employ cleaners on a minimum wage with an unachievable target. It then becomes the question of how fast can they clean it, and then what do they leave. The cleaner will leave and the cycle will start again. Result = unhappy customer.
Sometimes you need to go through the cycle. You won't get them all back but if you keep intouch you will get some of them back.

Just bad luck, dont read so much into it, 6 is a lot yes but its just a coincidence. Ive lost 3 in a week before then not lost any for months, just how it goes. Look at the grand scheme of things over the year how many you are picking up and losing. I tend to find it balances itself out.
-
this week I lost 2 because I put their prices up by £1, but in the same week I gained another 10
so i'm up by 8 this week
it never bothers me if a customer cancels as I always seem to pick up more that want my services
in dec 2014 I decided to do a graph on my computer with customer counts (something I've never bothered to do before)
on my last count (end of march 2016) I have gained 136 in total
in reality in that period I have gained more than 136 new customers as I would have lost some of the old ones
my point is that in this business, customers will come and go, as long as at the end of the day i'm still gaining and making a good living I don't let it get to me when I lose 1 or 2..... upward and onwards
-
I always find for everyone I lose I always pick a better job up ,
-
If you see it as "every customer lost gets you closer to the perfect round full of people who want you to come and won't leave you, until they die or move" you'll be much happier.
