Countries which have screened windows have a lot of insects/spider mess; hence they do the pre-brushing.  But they don't have frequencies like monthly, or every-two-weeks if you live in Scotland.

They get them done once-or-twice a year.

Remember Texas Girl?  She used to do all this kind of thing with the screens.
