I've been asked to price up jet washing a multi story car park ceiling, walls but no floors. I'm not sure what sort of price per metre I should be going for.
The building has water and it 6 stories.
I'm very new to pricing up pressure washing, I've only quoted for domestic and light commercial.
The ceiling also has strip lights, how do I get around that with out damaging or killing someone?

You do seem to get some very odd pressure washing requests . If it was me I would give that one a miss as pressure washing and electrics don't mix very well. The last thing I would want is to short out the electrics on a muliti storey car park... Oops! sorry mr its all gone dark for some strange reason ;D
The bit about they don't want the floors done also made me chuckle as will be soaked anyway with ceiling & wall cleaning runoff if using a normal cold pressure washer. :D

Something odd here, I can understand the outer walls even inner walls for graffiti removal but just a general clean ??
Best bet is to see if Lee from blast away might talk you through this ( doubtful ) or rob at m-clean ( good chance ) both are unfortunately both no longer on the forum.
I have quoted a car park clean - 5 levels ( 600 spaces ) but that was a newly built one and mainly cleaning off builders dust

I quoted exactly this in Canterbury as they were repainting the walls and ceiling white and they wanted the dust and cobwebs removed. The lights will be splash proof - ip45 if I remember correctly. You will need a 45 degree nozzle and good waterproofs and it will take longer than you think. 100 cars a floor is a small carpark -price it at 300m a day and you won't go far wrong but confirm what they are wanting to achieve before quoting

Why not do a small test area? Get their approval and then quote it accordingly! Simples ;D ;D ;D

Some good ideas here, this is a 'gateway' job to a lot more work, I wish it wasn't so, I would rather not do it lol.
But I will try and quote it anyway.
So, I can use a jet wash on IP45 lighting , correct?

We did a bus station to remove all the flaked paint off the ironworks ready for the painters.
This was completed in 6 nights and had some very clean waterproof overalls !
As mentioned , don't under estimate how long this will take. Also determine what is their expectations of clean is because you will have a lot of carbon build up from the cars! A test patch is vital so all concerned can see the end result .
IP45 can withstand low pressure for a limited amount of time.
IP 46 can withstand high pressure for a limited amount of time
Dont worry about IP47, IP48 you will need to be under water for these ! ;D
