I kno most on here agree with me how ionics are rip off merchants, lol most wojld say that we are too, but thats for another thread I think ::)roll

But how on earth can they justify such ridiculous prices. Their trolley, task 75ltr £1800 or the new Task2, 55ltr @ £1, 400 plus vat on both!! Absolutely ridiculous and yet some people buy them,,,,, I must be just thick, cause I cant see why anyone would.

Not long after i switched onto wfp, one of the ionics road shows was near me. So i got a couple of lads who were toying with idea of going wfp to agree to go so they could have a look.  I wanted to go to see what they had to offer compared to what i had and for some new ideas, as didnt know what to expect. Thankfully the lads on the day couldnt make it so went alone. Complete waste of diesil and waste of a good half day.
In a small room with a little talking, not much to see. Went outside to show poles off and vans, but didnt listen to my questions and to what i was looking for but tried selling me all sorts dispite me telling them i had only just kitted up month before. Didnt like me asking why they were the most expensive for what they had to offer  ::)roll
But then i didnt agree with their answer either

So what would you call a window cleaner who charges £100 or more for an hours work, correct me if I'm wrong but did
you not say the difference between a good and bad business person is having the confidence to charge what you think its
worth not what the customer thinks its worth.

I agree to an extent, but people pay for the job or product, not the time taken to do it/make it.

The one good thing is that if anyone is daft enough to buy this stuff one of two things may happen.

1. They will have to charge high prices to pay off their loans/recoup their savings. If they succeed they will raise prices in the area they work.

2. They will charge high prices and go bust leaving customers used to high prices and needing a window cleaner.

Good for those of us with any wisdom built upon experience.

What people pay for has not to do with it, the window cleaner sets the hourly target/rate just as Ionics set the product
price.
You cant say a shiner is foolish if they aren't trying to get the best price possible and then slate a product seller
for doing the same.

If they where to charge half of what most charge on here they could buy a top of the range Ionics system with a couple of weeks takings, no chance of anybody going bust in this game.(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1460444856_grin[1].gif)

Ionics should charge more.

Yes i did say that, but i also said it is relative to the market or economic state of the area. Ie the same size house would be charged slightly higher than the same size house in a less economic state. The same as my prices here in south yorkshire are way less than the prices in surrey or london. Same work is involved so the price is not a true reflective. Certainly iwould love to charge much higher but that is unrealistic. So my competitors are maybe 30 % cheaper than me. With ionics how does his trolley compare with the rest of the market?  Its not quite the same diference of Mercedes or bmw compared to ford is it, in leading workmanship, technology or leading the way as they say.
Unless you feel that ionic poles and trolley system is the cutting edge of innovation

I had thier brochure drop through my door this morning.

To be honest, Ionics looks alright i suppose but so is Brodex much of the same flim flam. It isnt cheap, but then again there is still a market there, id imagine if you have a large outfit with high business turnover and your facing a substantial tax bill, buying the kit will reduce it somewhat.

Sometimes the product isnt the product itself, its what it does for your business and in some cases blowing several grand on business equipment ends up being a good thing on your wallet. Lets be honest here would you rather give your hard earned money to the government in taxes  or reinvest it back in the business and minimise your tax liabilty?

I have a home built system, quite happy with that. I had a Brodex system, complete waste of money for me ended up costing me a fortune, plus they were overpriced for what they were back then.

But if my accountant said marc your going to have a huge tax liability, then splurging out on kit is the way forward.

There's an economic fact I was taught years ago.
You are all out there on the glass. The likes of ionics are making more than you.
During the gold rush in 1849 onwards the millionaires were the ones selling the shovels.

I don't mind how much the shovel sellers make as long as they don't make it out of me!

I bought my system from Ionics and I'd happily get another and recommend them.

Sure, the main Zero systems are not cheap, and have features I would not be bothered about.  But their Pure2o range (which is sort of the budget range) is superb in my opinion.

I have a 400 litre pure2o system, it was a reasonable price - about £2,700 incl fitting as I remember, and I cannot fault it.

All over priced or rubbish, the only thing that is good is the pole holder for the inside of the van excellent bit of kit.

Mine cost a fraction of that and I cannot fault it either.  It's been going great guns for a good few years now.

Ionics is for people with more credit than sense.

Anyway, I'm selling some magic beans, if anyone wants some.  E-mail me at tosh@gayjapladyboy and I'll forward you the bank details to make payment to.

I've put an order in for 8 kitted out new vans and a million leaflets after reading how great their stuff is.
Shame the don't do 50" tv's or I would have bought 2 off them aswell

I was going to sell up and move back with my parents but that is a no go as they have been in a hole in the ground for a few years now  so might not be ideal somehow. As I'm getting a great big new central heated unit and plush new offices my missus has kicked me out as said you think more of work than me so bugger off you MODDED then punched me in the head.... Then I woke up in a cold sweet thinking thank goodness for that it was only a terrible dream but how the hell did I get that black eye. My missus then looks over and smiles and says I have no idea you MODDED  ;D

the £1,700 saving bought me an xtreme 47,hot water heater, heavy duty hose reel and microbore, gas bottle, clx 4,various brushes and goosenecks.

I don't know that system but I doubt you could have put it together for a grand as you would be talking about £500 for 4040
RO alone.
I bought a ready built system and I worked out it would have saved me around £500 to build and fit it myself and there's no way
it would have been as well designed at the time because I knew very little about wfp and its workings.
Considering I had a warranty and a bit of training thrown in it was £500 well spent, knowing what I know now I would still do
the same.

If you go the pure20 route the systems are fairly good value for a crash tested system .......however some of the parts they sell :o :o :o

I took apart the controller from my pure20 system that sells for nearly 200 notes ...... the innards are just the same as the homemade £15 ones people make on here!
