Got a job in a couple of weeks with lots of leaded Windows. what method would you find the most efficient?
Usually I would wet and dry scrim them but never used micro fiber clothes and wonder if they would be faster?

Pure water in a spray bottle and microfiber cloth ;)

Wfp is way much faster but they may not take to kindly to it indoors ;D

damp microfiber and dry scrim. Seems to work for me

Seriously though what I call heritage leaded glass (proper leaded windows with individual panes of wafer thin brittle glass held in place by lead) is a very high risk job so good luck with that one.

Use a microfibre to dry, should be a bit quicker. You'll need more than one though once they are wet they are no good.

Get some little waffle cloths from Tadgh. Quick delivery and very good.

I had a contract with a company, and the lady who owned it would have us do her house on request really.
Every window was how u described it smurf. First time I done it I thought the whole window was going to fall out.
We used a piece of cardboard cut to size of window, a lad would go in and hold it up against the windows as the outsides was cleaned, using wet and dry unger microfibers.
House must of been built in the dinosaur era but was very nice indeed

I leave those jobs as is far too much risk for the reward to what I call specialist heritage leaded glass cleaners. My get out card is to tell a little white lie and say "sorry I'm not insured to attempt to clean heritage leaded glass windows." ;D

As said just pure water do not use a detergent they will end up worse in the sun,don't give em enough time to dry before you buff em off.

Ok so what microfibres cloths are people recommending? Are they all similar?
What size is best?

Those are the two I usually buy mate. The 80 x 60.
Work well for me. Also I would wet the window as little as possible.

not all microfiber are similar in quality and performance, from my experience when cleaning leaded windows on internals for example, the best quality and most effective to use are microfiber HPD (High Performance Detailing) cloths as you can achieve excellent results using one HPD cloth damp just with tap water to clean the glass, then just use a second HPD cloth dry to polish off for a perfect smear free finish. If you google microfiber detailing cloths you will find many suppliers online. When using HPD microfiber cloths size should not matter as its all about performance and when using microfiber HPD cloths you can achieve far superior results over using any type of microfiber glass cleaning cloths. same.
i use unger microwipes and a spray bottle of pure/gg3.perfect for leaded windows inside.dont use scrim as its easy to leave lint on the glass which will show up on a sunny day.

I clean 3 property's owned by the same company and they are BIG they are proper lead windows not the one you get off the shelf in a roll at b&q the windows are made up of small bits of glass to make one window. One window approx 18x36 in cost £500 quid. Damp cloth micro off. You will find they surfer a lot with black mould on them. AND DON'T PUSH TO HARD you can feel the whole thing moving.
