Hi Guys

just got job on a  house today , the  windows  has the  clear stuff on to keep it clean from Cement etc , how ever it has been :) left on for years , so how do i remove it, used Stanley scraper today  no good , use petrol  no good  , any help would be great

Sorry but those sorts of jobs I avoid like the plague as are more hassle than they are worth.
Last thing you want is them to say you have damaged the frames and scratched the glass.

I've found the quickest and best way to remove it is to get them to replace the windows  ;D

i have 4 more windows  to do in am.  just wondering  any guys have this prob before  and what they used its only on the glass..

Not tried it myself but some say De-Solv It Sticky Stuff Remover Gel works so might be worth a try

I wish i could Rosskesava, when i priced the job  i was 99 percent  the Film was in side of the windows as  the bottom windows   was taking off  at one stage, it s only when i got up on ladders,,,

Did one last year only one window out of the whole job .tryed a few things best was nailpolish and a sharp single edge blade still took over an hour

A good quality portable steamer may also work...that's if you got a genny or somewhere to plug it in.  Likewise a heat gun as is good for getting vinyl raps off glass apparently.
