Title: question for mr G regarding the reinforced pole hose!
Post by: mufcglen on March 02, 2016, 03:45:02 pm
im thinking of ordering 100m of the new reinforced pole hose to use as reel hose right up to the pole but wondering whats it like when putting warm water through it and whats it like at kinking etc.
im using the big minibore at moment but time for a replacement and cant decide whether to go with the microbore this time or give the reinforced pole hose a go right from the reel :-\

I've just fitted about 60m of the reinforced pole hose to my reel (added it to about 30m of minibore) and, initially, it seems good. I previously used 60m of Aquadapter red pole hose for about 5 years. I don't use hot so I can't comment but the hose lays flat on the ground and at the moment doesn't kink too much so I am liking it. You will notice the difference if you try it.

The reinforced pole hose would be fine used this way, but will not be as tough or last as long as a reel of 6mm ID Microbore.

will you be making new Y connectors for the brush heads? the older ones can't be fitted to the new hose which is so much easier to use

Generally we use a short length of the Orange PU hose through the gooseneck which then connects to the push-fit T Connector. On the bottom of this short piece of PU hose (inside the pole) is a 8mm push-fit connector.

When we make up the pole hose packs with the reinforced pole hose (and also in fact with the all-season PVC hose packs) we fit a 5mm barb to 8mm stem fitting ( http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pump-hose/hose-fittings-adapters/john-guest-fittings/metric-fittings/push-fit-8mm-stem-to-5mm-barb.html ) - this allows the hose be connected to the 8mm push-fit connections.

thanks Alex i'd be fitting a female rectus in the end as i like to have a diy hoseless pole connection, if i could get 12 months out of the hose i'd be more than happy.
im thinking it will reel in alot quicker too on the powerup reel as the minibore is just a little heavy for the motor!
ive used the minibore hose nearly 2 years now and its just starting to get a buldge or 2 in it but thats from me trying to pull it round car tyres when its stuck lol stretching the hose to extremes.
got a holiday to florida in next few weeks but when i get back a big orders going in and hopefully you'll have the slx22's back in!!

Been using 50 Meters of this new hose and 70 Meters of microbore. So far its a good idea.

Not for staff though really. Would get trashed lol

A bit like Alex mentioned, I've just fitted univalves to all my poles with nornal 8mm Aquadapter orange pole hose above the valve and reinforced pole hose below the valve. Works a treat. Been using 60m of reinforced on my reel for about a week and so far so good. Hopefully it will be as tough as the Aquadapter red I used for about 5 years.

Why not try Exceed blue hose I am using that.

is the exceed hose reinforced?
reason i want to try this hose is as a whole reel hose replacement right up to the pole and if its double skinned so to speak compared to normal pole hose it might be a winner using tiny pole hose instead of 6-8mm micro or minibore, think it would fly onto the powerup reel too reeling back in, the powerup isnt the fastest reeling the 8mm minibore in.
i believe the xline reinforced pole hose is very similar and has good reviews too but the price is alot more than Gardiners!

Exceed hose I believe is pu not pvc so super strong I know a guy using 70 metres of this with 50 metres of minibore on the bottom of the reel don't think he pulls that off much?
