Title: Ashbys Ninja Waste Tank
Post by: CleanerCarpets on February 29, 2016, 06:44:39 pm
Just wondering if anyone has an old Ashbys Ninja

I have an old one that is just a back up/spotter. I'd like to upgrade the vacs to 2x 5.7  3 stage 1200 watts or similar but as its old it doesnt have a braced waste tank

Anyone else got one with no bracing with 3 stage vacs?

Also - anyone know where to get a 200 psi adjustable pump to fit? Carpetcleanerstore used to have them but his stock is very slim on the ground nowadays

I would be surprised if it just imploded  ...     did the later ninja have a brace ?  you could just jam in a plastic tube in the waste tank as a brace perhaps .  I say the carpetcleanerstore guy is just waiting for a big shipping container full of 6.6s and pumps and stuff .

yes the newer Ninja's are braced but the Century Classic Ninja's sold in the US are still unbraced for the 3 stage motors.

i think i'll try it - just working out the best water pump - i want min 150psi but be good to have an adjustable to 200psi but i want it all on one cable so want less than 13a

need to work out the bypass as well on the pump

I wouldnt worry about the current draw
woodbridge have a 250psi pumptec complete for £208
or the carpet cleanerstore guy should have more aquatec 220psi switch pumps in eventually
of there is the 150psi sureflo
or the rotary vanes prochem use in th endevor

i've found a 150psi Flojet - its on demand

do all the others need a bypass running to the clean tank?

I had two 1500w 5.7 lamb motors in my old ninja and a uprated 150psi shurflo pump and no issues with the tank imploding or the machine tripping any electrics.... you will struggle to fit and 6.6 motors in there and then there is the added cost as you may as well put the money to a newer machine. there is also the heat issue with 6.6 motors in such a confined space.

If you go above a 150psi pump on the older ninja you will need to upgrade the solution internal hoses too as they i believe are only rated to 200psi..
But two 1500w 5.7 motors will go in with no problems..  ;D

Thanks for that Adrian

Its only a back up machine to the Airflex Turbo but i am thinking if i upgrade the old vacs and pump it will be good enough to do the odd flat etc and its nice and light

Ive been looking at the Airflex mini/Alltec but they won't do anything that the Ninja wouldnt with new internals. The Cub looks good but i dont think one 6.6 is any better than 2x5.7 3 stages and i dont like the old design of having to take off tanks just to do something - the Ninja & Airflex all hinge which is loads better

Was your Ninja braced in the waste tank?
