Im thinking of getting a 1 inch transfer hose instead of using my garden 1/2 inch hose to transfer my pure into van from water storage. is there a fitting i can add onto this hose to connect it to my transfer pump as and when required, instead of leaving it connected onto mt pump. which i store away untill in use.
thanks.
atm i just have 1/2 hozelock connectors fitted. connect as and when needed

Best fittings for 1" hose are known as GEKA fittings. Do a google search for them.
-
can you explain how these geka fittings work, doh ???
do

How to use geka fittings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-qROBGJAL4)

The ones in that video have the threaded tails, just order the fittings with the ordinary 1" tails.

can anyone post a pic, give me an idea to work from.
1/2 inch hose fittings anywhere. anywhere local sell 1" fittings. can you use like hozelock fittings, connect and disconect.
atm i have a 1/2"hose clipped onto transfer pump with male connector clipped onto a bit of hose. i then just pushfit the extention hose onto pump then into water tank.
ill get there.
as with anything new

If you have a 1/2" hose anywhere in the system, whatever its length, its no good having 1" hose and thinking it'll push water through at the rate of 1" hose. The amount of water will always be restricted by the 1/2" hose.
Most people have a transfer pump that lives in their water tank permanently. I have a 1" hose coming off the transfer pump with about a foot of it sticking out the top of the tank with a geka fitting on it. When I fill up I have another length of hose with a geka fitting on it that connects to the hose out of the tank which runs to the van mount tank.

i wouldnt have 1/2 " hose on the pump,
id have a small lenth of 1" hose connected onto the submersible pump, permanant. jubilee clip.
then when needed to fill van tank up id add the other 1" lengh of hose to the bit on the pump to feed into van water tank.
id do away with the 1/2 " hose all togeather.
we can easilly get used to going to wilkinsons etc to get some fittings.
im just not used to these fittings.
ill check them out.
any link to which 2 id need. male/female, or how do they connect.
