When I first started out regards block paving driveway cleaning I simply knocked a few doors with filthy drives. Once I had cleaned one drive in the street others soon followed.  Not to mention people seeing the finished results also asking to clean their paving, patios and decking too.

I'm not bothered with it much now to be honest as too many are at it doing it silly cheap prices so myself I will only take on pressure washing work if it pays well for my time.

Spring is the silly season for every tom dick or harry wanting work doing so best get out there quick and leaflet drop/knock doors as I'm sure you will get work if you put the effort in to go get it.

Mine came from my existing window cleaning work, without all those enquiries I would never have done pressure washing

Indeed Smudger... People asking did I know anyone was the turning point for me too rather than having to keep turning work away. Seemed daft not to give it a go as I was already into exterior property cleaning anway.

Only thing I don't really get involved in is roof cleaning as seems way too much hassle for me. Not only that most are too tight and don't want to pay out for correct H&S like scaffolding, pickers etc so they  go with cheap jo blogg that stomps about on their roof with no H&S fall protection at all.

Then regret it when the guy falls off or damages tiles, or worse treats with a chemical telling them it'll look great in 8 months time  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Or get reported from a concerned passer-by and ends up being taken to court by HSE and getting fined.

I   Would be getting some leaflets printed with a £50 discount voucher.....

 'EARLY SPRING DISCOUNT'
the first 20 customers in March will beat our annual price rise and get a £50 discount on all outside area cleaning.

5000 of these put out over the month will bring in more than 10 customers

If I saw a £50 discount offer I'd be thinking "if he can afford to knock £50 off how much is the job going to cost in the first place"..

My customers came from existing window cleaning work, but am not pushing for this work at the minute, if I was I would be looking for dirty jobs that needed doing and going in to see them, don't have to rip them off especially as you want the work.
