Title: What is the best protector??????
Post by: spickandspan on May 16, 2006, 11:33:49 pm
With all this correspondence on here about fabris protection etc what is the best one could somebody run a poll.
Or if everybody here would say what they use,  and why it would be very interesting.

I still use stuff I brought over from the states but otherwise I use "Intec"

hideously expensive but brilliant stuff. I buy it in bulk because I use so much

of it but I think it is about £70 a gallon and yes I said £70. Best, Dave.

Ian, I will send you an e-mail later on with some info. Basically it is environmentally friendly unlike all or

most on the market. The biggest difference is that you only need one application, ever. Dont know

how that is the case but I have tested it and the protection is still working after many cleans even

power washing the sample at 1500 psi and  extremely hot. It really is one of the better ones out

there, best, Dave.

Hi Dave

Just out of interest, im under the imprssion that protectors work better on wool carpets as they absorb it better compared to sythetic carpets, what carpet was your test carried out on ?

It was tested on 100% wool. I used this as it is mostly what I clean. Best, Dave.

i use prochems flouroseal, im told its good but yet to go back to a custys i've put it on so can't say how well it works,

i read on an US forum guy said, solvent ones are best as they penatrate and seal the fibre, instead of a coat of seal on top the fibre.

just what i read. 8)

oh and he said it makes improves appearance of carpet too.

Sorry, my fault I thought I had said.It is called "Intec". Their web site which I now kow is a link is not

working at the moment but I did call them on it and they are going to resolve. Their phone number is

01794 301 130. Ask to speak to Sue and she will arrange for someone to give you a bell on whatever

you need to know. They will send you all sorts of stuff, pamphlets, technical stuff and of course the price

The web site when it is working is www.probar.co.uk  It may just be me but I get a domain site come

up instead. Going back to the price again it is very expensive to what I am sure you are paying at the

moment. Good reason amonst many to raise the pricing for the application. I know the pricing of

protection has already been hashed out and I dont want to start a debate on it but...... it costs many

times more to buy the chemical to protect than to clean so why wouldnt you charge at least twice what

you do for cleaning. At worst the same price. Anyway for those who wil try "Intec" please let me know

how you get on as I am always open to finding other products that may or may not be superior. Apart

from a chemical I used in the states called "Protectall" I have found this one to be the best available.

Please again though if you know any difference let me know, best, Dave.
