I'm thinking of getting a back pack, do you end up using it more than anything else? Or does it end up sitting around in the garage? In short, is it worth the couple of hundred quid its going to cost..?

It depends on what you're going to use it for.

we have 2 fitted with peter fogwill brushes they are great for pulling out for buildings with say about 40 upper windows to rear of building, which has grass and the parking facility to the vehicle or trailer outstreatches the hoses
typical situation is hospitals, usually have restricked parking areas
jinky hope this helps
on domestic they can be used like on a trolley we use then for windows on roofs at front of houses and easily lifted for the backs, we had our trolleys specially made
with cage for backpacks you just slip them in without having to tie them to the sack trolleys, a quick lift out and they are on your back
hope this helps jinky

I'm a big fan of the backpack too; but only because of the type of round I have and vehicle I drive.
If and when I get a round with some large-scale commercial work, easy access; then I'd go for a 1000 litre van-mounted system and just keep the backpack for those hard to access areas.
I had a good 'nose' around Roy Hardings van-mounted system this morning (after Breakfast in Tescos) and it's class.
It really makes my little system look third or fourth class.
But I bet for much of type of work I have, I'd do it quicker with a backpack, than I could with Roy's van.
The humble round I have, I've built from scratch in a little over 3 years. Roy's been hard at it for over twenty!
It's horses for courses.

Ive got both trolley and backpack, the trolley has been nothing but a statue in the back of my truck since my backpack arrived, i wish i had bought the backpack first, it would have saved me a nice few bob. :-[
Keep your eyes out because the trolley system will be on here for sale soon.

Been using my backpack today on some awkward work ive got, couldnt have managed without it
i use a large funnel to fill it up from a 25ltr container so theres not much spillage

Thanks for your replies. I'll def get one. Today was a pain in the a*se. Lots of houses in a row but with loong front gardens and loads of corners and flowers. I really wanted one, the hose kept getting caught...
