Hi everyone
One of my "Helpers" has over wet a stair carpet. He did it because it was so dirty and kept going over it!!
Anyway the customer has rung and said her carpet is still damp 3 days later and it smells (although she is pleased it is clean).
Any good suggestions that I can undertake personally to get rid of the smell? Feedback would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

The smell will go once it completely dries out. You could speed it up by using airmovers. Also spraying with Formula 429 will help. Don't use standard deodourisers as they will not deal with the mildews causing the smell and could make it worse.

Personally I'd re clean. If it's just one step, heavy spray of m power or nemesis. Let it dwell and then rinse with lots of dry passes on low psi.
Turbo dry and towel until completely dry.

If a carpet is smelling from dampness making it even wetter is possibly the worse thing you can do, it needs to dry thoroughly first and then think about re cleaning / deodorising.......

Yes, I should have said that, make sure it dry first. Over wetting a carpet IMO is hard to do. Maybe your employee needs more training?! You also didn't say what the carpet was? Wool? Poly?

Thanks everyone. :)
It is standard Poly.
Will go over and give it a blast with the air mover first and see how it is
