Im wanting one of the above as my upholstery handtool has loads of overspray and to be fair goes all over.
Is there much difference between the 2 other than the price??

The sapphire is the best tool on the market imo

What tool are you using at the moment? I've got a few tools to suit the fabric I'm cleaning for heavy fabrics I use a open spray tool with a side spray guards........ but the important thing is I have drilled a hole at each end so any excess water is sucked in rather than sprayed out the sides.
I find my CFR a little long and cumbersome if I had to buy again I think I would opt for the sapphire

Im using the clear headed prochem one, its ok apart from the overspray.
I seem to be getting alot of upholstery lately and i think id benefit from not having to worry what the overspray is hitting! Apparantly there is no overspray with the CFR and Sapphire is there.
The price difference between the 2 is huge though.
Dont suppose you fancy selling your CFR do you Mike?
Cheers

Sapphire tool is miles better than the cfr.
Cfr was the tool in its day but others have passed it by.
Easier to use, adjustable, less wrist strain, drier,.

Horses for courses. I mainly use the sapphire but also use the CFR - depending on what is being cleaned. Mike is right about the CFR being cumbersome due to the length, but you can modify and shorten them to reduce wrist strain. Both great tools.

Couldn't agree more.. CFR superb tool except for the strain on the wrist...I was diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome by the hospital a few years ago and they booked me in to operate....I felt it was Repetitive Stain Syndrome so laid off using the CFR for a while.... pain went...no knife needed.... whew
I still use my CFR on selected jobs but the Sapphire is easier and in most cases better....it does have its limitations though!!!

I've got the rotovac and I've had the sapphire there's nothing between them imo my cfr tool is about 12 years old I'm not convinced the rotovac will last that long and as DB says it has its limitations like the fiddly bits but you just have to adjust.

Any links to the CFR please?
I know the sapphire is about £400!!!!

Ive just purchased a CFR pro spotter machine that comes with the CFR handtool.

Drymaster for me.
-
Just a shot of the reduced length CFR if anyone is interested.

I find the cfr so long it takes a 2 handed technique to hold it while cleaning ........

CFR for me. Had it for 7 years and its never let me down. Apart from obvious wear I.e. O-rings, coupling valve etc. Its built to last that's for sure. Where as the sapphire is plastic and felt cheap to me.
I've never had any wrist strain from using it even when cleaning 200+ office chairs. But some people do mention it so might be worth having a go with one before buying.
I also feel that you get a much better flush with the cfr without over wetting.

Has anyone got the shear Dry? How do they compare to the sapphire.

You might as well use both hands Mike. What would the other one be doing anyway? In your pocket? :D

I have shears dry and saphire , to be honest I prefer the Saphire as the Shear dry never worked as it should !
