It has been suggested to me by somebody that owns an extremely succesful guy that owns a music school and has about 70 tutors to consider "licensing" the business so they become self employed supply all their own tools etc etc but you take a cut out of takings say 40% + VAT so 48% total for this I do all the admin canvassing new customers customer care etc etc so they can just focus with getting on with the work it has worked very well for him and has saved him a lot in VAT as VAT is only paid on your commission not the whole turnover amount and everything is covered in the agreement with regards to not taking work etc etc
views guys?

Sounds great that mate. Get them to clean say...£200 worth and they pay you £96. You can't go wrong. Shame you wern't near me i'd do some of that for you.

out of that though they still have to pay for van and insurances etc...

Would this not be franchising or subcontracting.
If they were covering £200 per day why would they want to pay you £80+vat
They would be better off working for someone and that would save them the cost of running a van and buying equipment.

One of my neighbours is a well known cellist, but he knows feck all about running a window cleaning business. I wouldn't listen to his or anyone's advice that hasn't had experience in this line of work.
