Looks to be and says on the label, brushed cotton.

It's brand new customer wants it scotchgarding.

She said when she purchased the sofa she took out the protection / insurance, but has been told while they will honour the policy they can't stainguard the sofa ???? So that set the alarm bells ringing  ???

Any comments appreciated.

Cheers Paul

The short answer is ...YES.

If your worried then use a solvent based fluorochemical protection treatment

As Derek says - yes. Go for solvent protector but make sure they are happy with you using it in their house ( slight odour and possible chest irritation for some people)  Open windows and aire the room.
Many shops sell the warranty / insurance and because they can't be bothered to spray it put it down as dry warranty ie still covered but no protector applied.

Will you adding a protector product void the manufacturers warranty / insurance?
Might want to get clarification of the situation with the customer as you could end up with a problem you do not want as the company could argue that you have "tampered" with their product that they have sold in the event of a claim!!!
