when collecting last night a customer said theres 2 scratches on one of his upper sills.first complaint ever in nearly 6 years WFP about sills.i said ill take a look and sort it next time i clean his windows.
standard white UPVC windows.
what do you guys use?
im thinking of cream cleaner and a non scratch scourer if its black marks from the stock of the brush.
cheers in advance guys

Try t-cut
-
or G3
-
If these are crayon like markings from the brush head I've used Astonish paste. Comes up a treat ....
-
Unfortunately if they are scratches there's nothing that will remove them Dazmond, be careful as things like t cut could make it worse and actually take the shine off the area.
If the marks are from the brush a caravan cleaner should remove them, something like Silky.
-
Try bio-mex restores pvc back to new and removes scratches.
Buy from Lakeland or Amazon £10.
-
I found this stuff works a treat.

I will bet a £5 a magic sponge will take the scratch out.

No idea about getting rid of scratch but to prevent in the future put some Velcro around stock of brush

Ye I would also start off with some cream cleaner, even just a microfibre cloth to massage it in, leave it on 5 mins or so.
Dazmond, am loving this water were getting off this job in Manchester it comes out the tap at 038,
No wonder you just di, u couldn't justify an RO with tap water on them levels

I pay 10.99 for a 100 to my door from
China. 30mm thick and last ages :)

What did you scratch it with Dazmond?
i dunno ive not taken a look yet.probably stock on brush.
-
Regarding the type of brush I tend to use a Gardiner sill (radial) brush as is less chance of the stock coming into contact with the sills
To remove marks on sills I would tend to use magic sponges (again from china bought in bulk) and if need be an upvc restore product. They usually look worse than they actually are though if only light scratches if for say dirt etc gets into them.

Just deny all knowledge and dump

Magic eraser pads are widely available on the net and yes they are wonderful pads for removing heavily ingrained soils from pvc surfaces best used in combination with your preferred cream/paste or liquid cleaners, but in fairness they will not remove scratches from pvc surfaces.

Great stuff covers over minor scratches leaves a nice finish
-
Also meant to add magic eraser pads are lightly abrasive and if you scrub the pvc surface with too much pressure they can abrade the natural sheen finish on pvc and leave behind dull looking patches, to err on the side of caution use them in combination with your preferred cream/paste liquid cleaners with just enough pressure not to cause detrimental damage to the surface, also just to share always use them damp when cleaning any hard surfaces. next time i clean his windows which will be around 3 weeks time now.
im just easing myself back into it after 5 days off with flu.still feel a bit rough so half day only today and tomorrow then back at it full steam ahead from wed.
im gonna buy some magic sponges from the pound shop and use them with a bit of cream cleaner methinks.
-
Pretty sure they don't cure flu.
-
Just to share guys using a damp magic eraser pad with tap water alone will completely remove sellotape or adhesive residue marks left behind from window stickers, of course a small bit of scrubbing required but won't cause any scratching on the glass.
-
use the old classic "it wasnt me" ;-)
