No matter what brush you use you will always find that you get better results f you rinse off the glass, if that isn't the problem then check your water.

I used to use ionics brushes. In my experience, the bristles are so dense the y hold dirt really really bad. Far worse than the vikans. Also they jets are big, so even if you use loads of water its actually quite low pressure and doesn't always push the dirt down the window effectivley. Your first move should be 2mm jets instead of 3mm. Next try out other brushes, you'll prefer almost all of them to your ionics brush, everyone my way seems to have ditched them. I reckon that's what your problem is.

shal i invest in a vikan brush and will it fit my ionic pole as the pole is great

I think ionics brushes are the best you can get and i would not use anything else.
I have tried a brodex brush ,but the brissels were far too floppy for my liking.
I tried a vikan but after half a day it had turned black through holding trapped dirt.
I have heard very good reviews about the tucker brushes which some say are the best ,but i cannot comment never having used one.

What pole are you using Derek?
Ionics sell 2 types (domestic and professional) they have different brushes with different size jets. The Domestic brush I found was no good for daily use and the jets were to big. The professional ones are the dogs bo***cks and I would not concider using anything else.
P.S. I dont think its down to keeping your brush clean I have cleaned mine once in 3 years and it still works fine, even if it does look a bit rough. Good results are all down to good rinsing.
