Out for a meal last night with a guy who runs a double glazing company. He was complaining how lazy the Welsh youths are (his company is in Wales). He was saying how difficult it was to get anyone who was prepared to work for a living despite the fact that he paid them a dammed good wage of £10.00 an hour. Most of his staff are Polish. I asked him what hours they worked.....................
6am.- 6pm five days a week (60 hours a week).
Not bad money I suppose ... but 60 hours a week :o sod that.

Well I doubt he would be able to tempt any decent window fitters to work for him on a tenner an hour?
One of my customers sons is a window fitter and averages a grand a week.
-
They might be making the windows.

Out for a meal and talking Windows? If I get like that, someone shoot me please lol

Manufacturing windows. Producing the frames from powder granules so some kind of extrusion machine. Probably as boring as hell too.

You are just hearing the viewpoint of the guy who runs the company, perhaps he isn't paying his employees enhanced overtime rates for the extra hours worked?

In this day an age most would be greatful to have a steady job that pays £10 per hour as many work for far less surely?
-
£10 an hour job is a pretty well paid job where I'm from
-
The Welsh are lazy buggers though. :P
-
Yes, but 60 hours a week? He didn't mention anything about overtime.
This time of year I doubt I do more than what - 35hours on a good week?

I would like to know if there is anyone on here who will openly and honestly state that they would be prepared to work 60 hours a week for a tenner an hour.
