You dry guys may clean up but....as soon as the waters back on they will be back to have a proper clean. HWE all the way.

How are the Truckmount boys going to fill up? The one thing Water companies will be doing is checking how small business are gettting water into the water systems. Big Money to be made from Fines. Friend works for Thames Water and has told me that they are recuriting extra inspectors for this very reason.

Truckmounts die Portables inherit the world.

Would filling the TM count as non-essential use of water?

And if you have to walk down the road to fill buckets for the portable would that not make the cleaning process even longer?

The biggest concern is that it will put people of having carpets cleaned if they believe this is non-essential use of water.

Car Wash's, Golf Course's and Park's will be stopped from using water unless they re-cicle so I can only asume that Carpet Cleaning and Window Cleaning will be considered the same if you are using hose's to fill up tanks.

You can use Buckets but not the hose pipe to fill up.

I think it may only be scare tackticks but you never know, one thing is for sure the water rates will be going up next year though.

Why should I stop filling up my TM and not earn a living to feed my family when the Water boards are the one's to blame for wasting all the water.

ONE QUARTER OF WATER IS LOST THROUGH PIPE LEAKS IN THE THAMES VALLEY AREA! >:(

It makes my blood boil when I read and listen to all this nonsence.

Did anyone watch the news on Tues eve. and see how much water is lost through leaking pipes while a 3 minute report was on, it was mind blowing. ITV also phoned a water company in Brighton to report a water leak, it took 20 mins. on the phone just to speak to someone.

They earn massive profits, me filling my TM to earn a living and pay tax is NOT the problem!

Phil

Hi Guys

I'm fairly new to the carpet cleaning industry and as a truckmount user have been looking at this subject with interest.

In my opinion the drought orders are just the way ahead for the water companies and the government to scare eveyone into thinking water is a scarce commodity even though it rains all the time! This is exactly the same way the gas prices etc were increased, by telling us we'd run out of North sea gas all of a sudden! The long term plan being water meters for eveyone, it's a well used government strategy called " Problem, Reaction, Solution". I'm afraid in the grand scheme of things carpet cleaners and the like going bust is of no concern to the water industries or the government.

during the ban you cannot wash exteriors of buildings at all, you can use water to clean carpets and cars etc as long as it is for health and safety reasons.

What i cant under stand is that i'm under severn trent water and after looking at their web site they have no plans for any type of water restriction. They have 97% reserves.
So how come they can get it right but other companies can't?

If they start restricting business from using water then it will have a knock on affect.

Business going bust.
More people claiming benifits.
Higher taxes.

Sorry lads, it is never a good time to think of cleaning dry. P.S. I have a well on my farm in Wales so if

anyone needs water then please let me know. Other than that, where I used to live we wouldnt get

much more than 4 inches of rain a year and there was never a thought of a ban. How can this country where

it rains all the bleeding time not have water. I go caving every week amongst 100's of millions of gallons

of water, so its not like it isnt around. Best, Dave.

Rob

The problem is that the highest usage area is the South East with so many people living in such a small area. But also once you get past Watford in Rains all the time anyway. ;D ;D ;D
