Title: Flooded car floor.
Post by: john mathers on December 30, 2015, 07:36:50 pm
Quick question guys.

I live near where some of the flooding happened, couple of friends have there cars flood on the floor of the car.

Would a double vac (steempro 2000) be good for getting a good deal of the water off the floor carpets.  I am aware there is underlay in most cars which is like a foam.

Would it be useless?

The first thing you need to do no matter what your equipment is - is to take all the carpeting out of the car.  Not a 2 minute job :'(

A double vac will get a fair amount of water out of the carpets but you will still find that there will be a lot left in the foam underlay. Most thorough way, as said is to remove seats and get carpets out but this is a big job. Whichever way you do it put the air conditioning on after, as this will help dry it out. Best of luck!
