My pump is always flat out. Sometimes it pumps well, sometimes not a lot. Its slower when tank gets low. Only a 250 ltr tank, so a lot let force behind it than some. Its quite a noisy pump. Cant see anywhere where air is getting in. Thought about buying a bigger pump. Anyone tried these

Have you tried clearing/cleaning any strainers/filters that may be creating resistance for your pump?
The main ones would be-
Pump strainer and the slits in any DI vessel internal strainers.
The pump strainer being clogged up can give the symptoms you describe.

Try an Everflo pump i think they are the best and there are several choices of flow. I've used vyair and most other makes but I find Everflo the best by far.

Shurflo are the only pumps worth having that's why all of the top of the range motorhomes use them, get the 7ltr per minute
model and it will more than do your job.
If you have a Shurflo and its giving you problems then I would be confident in saying that you have went wrong somewhere
in your set-up.

-10 for vyair
Been there were u r mate tried vyair pumps and had nothing but problems with them
Believe me mate I was given all this advise before buying but didn't listen, I use 8mm hose and it's just not fat enough to push the water through
Am back on shurflo but using 6.8 lpm pumps instead of 5.3 lpm, picked them up from agratech solutions, haven't had 1 problem with either pump in the van and both are run without controllers
I run my pumps flat out for upto 8-10 hours some days so this shows they are upto the job, just have to start the van an leave it running sometimes

When you say your pump works rubbish when your water is low...is it once you've moved your van?

No just when its get down to about the last 12 inch or so. Its always had good and bad days. Honestly think I have a lazy pump or controller. Want it sorting. Battery could do with a bit more juice at times. Had it 2 years so time for an upgrade.

who sells the more powerful shurflo pumps?
-
I've recently fitted a higher rated shurflo pump but found no difference. If you can't get the water to it quick enough or pump it through 100m of microbore any faster then there's no point in trying something like 10l pm. Your problem doesn't sound like the pump exactly Could be one of many causes. (Air in the system, battery running down, no vent in the tank, kink in the hose or blocked strainer.).
If I wack the controller up from six to ten my pump makes a load more noise and shakes the van to bits, it's working harder but the flow hardly increases.

Battery was low. I don't use a separate battery as the van as a standard duel system. Just plug and play. I normally don't charge it. I think the winter has drained it. Think Ill get a pair of new battreries
as they are 4 years old. They arnt dead but not very good

I work the same way, only buy top of the range batteries now, tend to last me around Two years of constant use- Bosch silver series are very good.

I'm still on my original van batteries - 2006. The sight glasses still look fine and the van still starts first time. Can't understand how they are still going ???
Going to cost a bit for two new batteries one day I think.

Only one battery on the vans I've had though.

Is the pump fitted so the pipe connectionis facing van bed
