I've looked on the spec of these poles and it says metal banded clamping points to increase longevity of the clamping points, what was the point of getting rid of them ?
-
maby alex is not selling anouth of them lmfao ;D

I think the opposite they last a lot longer I have a 25ft and the metal clamp sections are not worn at all they clamp perfectly 2 years on,most poles fail at these points and start spinning hence the pole is on its way out. The clamps on these poles and the metal bands make the poles last way longer.

They came out in Aug 14.

Sorry over a year then.

Alex said they got rid of the metal bands as the new s3 is stronger all along the pole and your able to clamp anywhere along it now as opposed to the previous extremes only being able to clamp in certain points!
-
An s3 with top and bottom bands would be interesting tbh.

Was thinking the same thing.
Wonder if that's a possibility. I honestly love the metal bands.
My Pole is coming up 12 months old and looks brand new.

Doubt it would work because the metal bands would increase the diameter of the pole. I think Alex explained why he thought the metal bands were no longer thought necessary.
