Title: Marmoleum Cleaing

I have a Marmoleum clean coming up, I have never cleaned it before. It is its first clean and as this is new to me I just wanted a little advice. It is tile and doesn't seem to have and finish/polish. It is a little scratched and soiled and has one stain which may be rust. I was planning to scrub clean it with red pad and apply two coats of some matt polish. Is this the way to go?

I was going to use something like alkleen per my prochem hard floor training but I have been reading and some manufacturers say only to use a neutral cleaner. I'm not sure what polish to use  for a matt finish any suggestions.

Go easy on me hard floors in general are still a bit new to me. :-\

Robin, why matt finish? Is this as you been asked for it?
Red pad seems to be ok for cleaning if no polish stripping to do there.
Would not bother with neutral cleaner, just dont go mad, product like sts from solutions and similar from others are good and safe enough. If you use alcaline cleaner then neutralize surface before aplying polish.
3 coats is a minimum.

Alkleen will be fine.

As marmoleum is porous use either a self sealing finish like Pioneer Eclipse Floormatte or a seperate Floor Sealer as your first coat.

I would always do 2 seal and 2 finish.
