Hi all, i live in cambridgeshire about 20 miles out of Cambridge, i've got a domestic job come up inside Cambridge and it has 35 medium to large sash windows + a couple of doors.
I don't usually struggle to price jobs up but my problem is that i only usually commit to commercial work inside the city simply due to the fact that the traffic can be horrendous and it isn't worth my while traveling in for domestic work. The customer had my details through a recommendation and i can tie it in with another job which is why i don't mind quoting for it.
I would like an idea of what the going rate is in Cambridge for domestic work as i don't want to out do myself and at the same time, take the p by charging too much!...... also i've had a nightmare 2 weeks and my brain is failing to operate!
I've heard of companies charging £30 for three storey town houses that have 12-14 openings, purely based on that and the fact that these are large sash windows i would need to charge £70 upwards??

20 miles travelling? I'd want more than that. If it was on my doorstep you're right on the button IMO.
-
It would be tied in with some commercial work which traveling has already been accounted for so i'm not too worried about that side of it.
-
Is it a one off ?
If tied in with another job then you can absorb the travel time but £70 is too low IMO - 3 story with 35 largish sash Windows would be at least 3 figures if not double your original thoughts

It's 2 storey and possibly 4 times a year.

Id want £800 at least and aslong as I'm pricing against CIU'ers I know I'd be too cheap!
-
NWH would do the ground floor for £20.00 and the second floor for free, so long as you told him it was a roof.
-
Where's the free roof/boasting/£300/whatever thread gone?
Lol.
-
I think Mr G must've deleted it. NWH was last seen offering a granny on her £6.00 bungalow a full gutter, fascia and soffit clean as well as a grass cut, edge of lawn trim and supply and install of a new fence as a 'favour'. He was heard to be mumbling something about a particular post that needed removing in order to be able to offer this kindly favour.
Mr G thought he meant the post on conservatory roof cleans. Not to worry.

Seems a bit daft to delete that. Was quite funny and have seen far worse.
Still, LoL.
