Anyone tried one of the cheap 12v pumps off ebay?

I wouldn't bother. It's only going to give you more problems.

I've used one in a backpack (they are very small) and it works perfect - its about 2 years old now.
It is only used a couple of times a month though, so I can't comment on how they'd cope with everyday use.

For every day use not right good

Yes, bought and used several of them based on someone on here saying they where great and they use them on their van system. They are great, on a back pack or a small hose reel. They don't do well, or last well pumping a van system through 100 metres of micro/mini bore.

Think i'll give them a miss then.
Cheers Boys.

I have the same one in my backup pump box. I've used it on a couple of occasions for around 2-4 hours to finish off a shift, don't think I would be comfortable with it as the main pump though.

I just need one to put into a van i'm selling.

I've read and re read this several times. "Can't loose much really ". I'm still trying to fathom it out. He should of just got one and not asked ?

Just hours of time esp. If it goes wrong a long way from base, van system shurflo is king.
They are great for backpacks and trolley systems tho.

DIY or just buying cheap crap I've been there. But I ain't buying the T shirt as I can make one myself ;)
Shur Flo pump shouldn't be too much of an ask if your selling the van. Just give him an empty tank of diesel :)
