What's this new pole like then,if it's any good I'll buy 1.

Do you mean the new X3-Xtreme? I'd be interested on any feedback on that one also ....

I was going to buy the x3 extreme 22 after Xmas but to be honest after reading the user guideline the pole seems to need a lot of care & cleaning.
I'll be spending more time cleaning the pole than i currently do with my slx 22

Getting a extreme 25 series 3 in the new year, see what that tax bill looks like first.

i believe the metal clamp rings have gone and you can clamp anywhere along the sections now unlike the others due to the new pole being made of stronger material, im definately considering one but im not sure it would last as long as my slx the way i treat that.
slx poles are just too solid and reliable for me personally, if i was gonna pay double the price for an extreme i'd want to be certain it wasnt gonna snap while working and at the moment i keep hearing too many reports of people snapping them!

ive had mine(xtreme 25) for a few weeks now.it feels much stronger than the previous model and its even more rigid.being able to clamp anywhere is good.it makes poling a little bit faster when extending and retracting.
its basically like an SLX but lighter and more rigid. :)
im very impressed with this pole.its as near as your going to get to the perfect pole.

I've got 8 of them. I only use them on £300.00+ conservatory jobs. I'll be buying 8 more soon, I've used these so much they've come to the end of their useful lives. Damn good hard-wearing poles.

The free pens are a big improvement on the previous model..Black ink and a lot more comfy to hold..well done Alex ;D ;)

I'm reluctant to buy a pole in the winter as I feel that's when it gets hammered with grit through the pole and on the sections,this last couple of months after most jobs it's been full of it inside the pole and polehose.The metal clamping points on the extreme they did were a real benefit of prolonging the life of the pole they cause a bigger ridge at each section making grit very difficult to build up,on a clamp anywhere pole the grit builds up during each job and literally eats away at the sections especially in the winter months. IMO this will shorten the life of the pole drastically as all the other poles I've had have been ruined due to grit build up at the sections causing them to split before the true end of there life,is this the reason for re introducing it in half the time you need to buy another one. I've not heard a good reason for changing the pole back to clamp anywhere on the sections,I really can't see it being needed on any work with a pole so light and easy to use its a bit like saying here's an extreme but you also need to buy a mini pole for downstairs when you don't coz the extreme poles are a complete up and downstairs pole coz they are so light and easy to use.

When i get home i quickly dismantle pole give each section a quick rinse down with water then leave to dry overnight then reassemble in the morning takes less than 5 minutes all in .
It doesn't matter whether you buy an Xtreme or SLX if you're more than happy to trash a brand new pole without cleaning it more so this time of year with crappy wet weather and more chance of getting dirt/grit inside pole then it really wont make any difference to the wear rate long term only your wallet will be hardest hit .

I clean my extreme pole every Friday night. If I am on new builds then I will clean it at the end of the day if I can see and feel grit.
Stop tape replaced on the first of the month. I can never get it the same as Gardiner tho. I either use too much or not enough. Bought the yellow stop tape now but only done pole once.

No doubt they know the diameter of each section probs have measurements on a work bench and cut size then wrap

When the pole and clamps wears it makes it harder tho I find. I think I need to use more and spread clamp more.

i couldnt be bothered to do that every night after a days work.i extend the sections and flush with water usually once a week and take it apart maybe once a month and do what you do.
i clean the pole hose a lot though when putting the pole in the van between jobs.obviously when you can feel grit in the pole.take it apart and clean it.sand is the worst!
im happy to buy a new main pole every 2 years.
i dont treat it with kid gloves.it gets used for nearly all work in its lifetime.(f/s/g,conny roofs,etc)as well as most window cleaning.

what will a main pole earn you in 2 years?80k-90k?

after a few days of using the new xtreme its fantastic to be able to clamp anywhere on the pole.it speeds you up for sure.

I don't find it any quicker being able to clamp it anywhere on the pole over the half point clamping points on the extreme mk2,I want to know the point of it why change it the metal bands extend its life 2-3 fold.
