Got a wool carpet to clean soon which is in pretty good condition apart from 1 section, where the door mat has been which has a rubber backing it has left a black square patch. Has anyone dealt with this before? Will it just clean out? Or will I need to use something else to remove the stain.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Try citrus gel mixed with a little warm water allow to dwell for a few minutes then rinse out.

Try Dereks suggestion. Its leaching of the rubber or whatever other type of cheap plastic it may be, into the carpet fibres. Probably a cheap matt not fit for purpose. Sometimes this is impossible to rectify.

Very doubtful it will come out, probably loads of moisture along with soiling and transfer......
We used to offer to cut it out and sink a coir mat into the entrance, looked good and many took it up this offer.

Ok thanks guys, I didn't make any promises but thought it might come out. See how I get on its not for another week yet.
