I've been working for someone for a long time now but having a nightmare now.
He has his brother working with us and another lad. The problem I've got is they do nothing and it feels like I do everything. His brother is off ill at least once a work due to one reason or another but the truth of it is he loves a night ok drinking and a lot more other stuff. And the other lad is late every single day. They both do drugs so useless every morning. I would leave but I need the money as I have a wife and 2 kids to support. I'm so fed up that I now hate going to work. He won't get rid of either of them no matter what they do. He says all the time to them that I haven't been late in 15 years and if it wasn't for me the buisness would be on its knees. What would u do?

Dont carry wasters .

You posted similar in 2013, you will get the same advice as then.
Go on your own.

Be careful of the advice you get on this thread, NOBODY can accurately give the correct advice just on this post, you know your circumstances and wether you can if fact afford to leave..
Are you an employee ? - do you have your own van - do you really want to leave ? - can you survive setting up on your own ? - can you talk to your boss ?? Will you be happy if he changes things?
You can ask to work on your own - maybe a large pay rise to carry on putting up with the other two.
You could call his bluff and hand threaten to leave if no changes happen
You may have to prepare yourself for new employment if it all falls on deaf ears
But if your unhappy, get it changed or leave

£10 a day does not cover your equipment & fuel - not even close!

Why haven't you started your own round? you say you've been doing it 15+ years but your working for someone else, got your own van + system....what's stopping you from being your own boss? 🤔
-
Could you build a round up on Saturdays so as to give you a baseline wage on which to build while still working with the muppets? Then when you have a minimum survival wage which would be enough for your family to tick over, then quit and go full bore for yourself?
You seem to be a grafter. Grafters who are concerned about the quality of their work don't tend to go far wrong in life.

Yes looking back you had the same 2 years ago...
Are you the crystal clear that used to have the samurai avatar ??

According to his previous posts he must have had his own round as someone worked FOR him for 9 years and was on £15 per hour. He also asked the same question 2 years ago. Something doesn't add up!

Why not go part time for the boss , how can he say no , its your van and gear after all !
If you mean so much to him he would be a fool to just rely on the muppets , get yourself out knocking the doors like crazy , it wont take long to build up a basic round , plus you would still get part time money from him , you wont pay much tax and you could be in line for some sort of working tax credit .
Its easy for me to say sitting here , but that is exactly how i started 10 years ago , it just takes balls to take the leap , but only you know whats involved with the gamble .
Good luck Rich
