Title: Xline Sill Brush Review.
Post by: David Kent @ KentKleen on December 02, 2015, 06:02:51 pm
There are lighter, thinner, longer, smaller, wider, bigger, taller and cheaper wfp brushes available on the market.

BUT  after trying out just about every other one..................

This is the best brush I have come across.

Highly recommend.

The End.

(P.S WFP for 5 years, clean all frames, sills and doors (including garage) EVERY TIME we call. (normally once a month) Using this brush with 'hot' pure water)

Just got mine in the post today (flocked). Website has it at 222g which is a mistake as it is around 375g.

Used the xline dt mono for a few days (same weight and size as a super light) and found it very good.

Mono, used for less than a month.  I'm off the tools now really, but after a successful leafleting campaign have just worked 2 weeks of first cleans with it!! It's fantastic.

For some reason we were listing an incorrect weight at the top of the sill brush pages, but further down in the description it was correct. Thanks for pointing this out, I have now updated it.

I got a flocked xline sill brush come this week. Not rigged it up yet. What's it like on original leaded lights, does it bounce?

It bouces less but it still bounces, the texture and the density of the bristles make it bounce less but it still does, any dual trim will bounce you need a single trim brush for leads I've discovered over the years having different length bristles make it a nightmare for lead lights. The world is not full of flat plate glass I wish brush sellers would have this in mind when designing them, there is a lot of lead in Rudyard Kipling land.

ive bought an flocked xline brush this week and think its great, nothing wrong with my gardiner supreme soft flocked brush i was using either but i had to try one of these with all the talk about them!
only issue i have with the xline is the fan jets, they seem to be more of a fuzzy pencil spray pattern than a nice spread out fan like gardiner fans.
other than that weight is very similar to supreme and feel is very nice, compared side by side the xline looks more squared off bristle shape and also more bristles in the centre too yet to try it on leaded but will do soon!!

I think Daz is right. I am very impressed with this brush. Used it again today including a house where I also clean the insides. IMO it is significantly better than the Gardiner equivalent (medium mixed mono).

It is the same size and weight (within a few grams) as the sl range. The supreme brushes are lighter and smaller. Not used the soft but think the bristles hold their shape better then the medium hybrid supreme and the medium mixed sl.

i thought it was closer to the supreme range myself as the weight is 220g whereas a superlite is 270g and an supreme is 200g, but i do agree it looks similar to the superlite shape so i suppose you could say its a better in between brush of both of them!

Depends whether you way brush with socket on or not. I put an sl and the xline brush on my scales and they came out the same weight.

Sl is supposed to be 260g and xline 222g but if you weigh both brushes with a socket fitted they come out the same.

I didn't know that pal I'm just going off the website data but thsts interesting as one of the reasons I stopped using superlite was because they was super heavy!!, good scrubbing but too heavy whereas the supreme is a good balance between the extreme and sl, I'll give it another week with the xline and see how it goes but it doesn't feel any heavier in my mind compared to supreme!

I have recently been using the xline and the supreme. Xline definitely feels heavier on the end of the pole but it does clean better than the supreme.
